L'oreal White Perfect Range - Day Cream Review (Part 1)

I came across the L’oreal's White Perfect Day Cream on my hunt to find something that can reduce pigmentation and imparts even skin tone with instant glow. Products that claim “Fairer” or “Whiter” skin do not attract me generally, for I stand by the belief that every skin is simply beautiful in its own way but a radiating effect in a cream is what I always desire for.

A night cream along with it was a planned buy as I was looking to include serums in my night care regime from long. Since them both came in a combo offer, it was worth a buy!

It’s been 4 months I have been using both the creams and feel to have invested enough time to come out with a genuine review. I am only talking about day cream in this post, for night cream deserves attention of its own, which will be showered in the subsequent article.

"Tested on Asian women, who claim to notice one drop in melanin block, the product reveals the radiant fairness, with its light & non-greasy formula. It is enriched with Melanin-VanishTM, that helps to reduce spots and visibly brighten skin tone and Tourmaline Gemstone, that stimulate skin micro-circulation to reveal your natural healthy glow."

Product Claims:
"L’oreal White Perfect Day Cream claims to be an anti-spot cream with brightening effects along with SPF 17 PA++" (Hello sunscreen!).  I like products that are formulated to address multiple issues. One product and you get sought out with your daily moisturizer, sunscreen and other skin problems.

Results Claims:
"Immediate Results: Skin is perfectly hydrated and visibly brighter.

Day after Day: Dark spots are visible reduced. Skin looks fairer, more transparent with a healthy glow.”

Packaging:
L’oreal White Perfect Day Cream comes in a heavy glass tub container with a blue plastic cap. Overall the packaging is quiet sturdy and travel friendly but tub container makes it unhygienic for use due to constant dipping of our fingers in the product which allow bacteria to thrive. A pump packaging would have been a better option for a product that is ought to be used on daily basis.

It retails for INR 795/- for 50 ml. (Buy here)

Description:
L’oreal White Perfect Day cream has thick cream consistency which surprisingly feels very light on the skin. It spreads easily with quick absorption and feels smooth to work with. It emits a strong fragrance which is definitely chemical in nature but is pleasing. It’s non-greasy nature makes it suitable for summers. It can also act as a good base primer under your foundation.

My take on L’oreal White Perfect Day Cream
Before heading on to the review, here is a quick description of my facial skin. I have a combination skin that remains neutral to dry all the year except the T zone, which is oily. I am grateful to have a skin with no acne issues but do have uneven skin tone at upper lips and outer forehead.

Based on the claims made by L’oreal White Perfect Day Cream, I tested the product on following criterias:
  • ·         Reduction in spots and blemishes
  • ·         Even skin tone
  • ·         Brightened skin
  • ·         Suitable for all skin types
  • ·         Lasting hours

Having applied the cream on a cleansed face every morning, one striking feature I noticed was the instant glow it brings. Your skin definitely radiates with even skin tone and the glow looks completely natural. It also moisturizes the skin and feels light to wear.

Since I have combination skin, I found it comfortable in summers, indoors and outdoors both. There is no oil formation on my T-zone or other areas. Hence, I can confer that this product suits all skin types.  Also it lasts all through the day. The maximum hours I have worn it is 11 hours straight and it stayed.

So far, so good! but one thing that surprises me most is the fact that I instantly look 2 or 3 tones whiter with single application of the product. One could easily differentiate between the areas where the product is applied and hence it demands more blending. It works more like a concealer/foundation that hide spots, blemishes or other flaws by forming a white cast, almost like a snapchat filter.

The reason to this whitening effect is the advanced melanin vanish blocks that cover the flaws by forming a white film. It surely does feel amazing the very moment I apply the product, but is it doing anything good in a longer run?

The answer to that is NO! 4 months down the line and I still fail to notice any reduction in blemishes or my skin tone. Also I am still waiting for a rosy glow to radiate from my naturally pale white skin, but ah!.. forget it! Which brings me to a conclusion that much hyped Melanin- VanishTM blocks work in a way to cover skin flaws and not probably reduce them. Hence, L’oreal needs to check their data of supposedly “45” Asian women experiencing melanin drop! That brings me to the fact that its high time for beauty companies to leave behind this centuries old marketing trick of skin fairness and lighter tone shades and cash out on inferiority complexes of not having born with an "ideal body or skin" that we all live with daily. Its time we acknowledge that every individual is beautiful the way he/she is.

So here is my quick review on the product: Well, if you are someone who is always on the rush and desires for a glowing skin but investing time in skincare is something out of your league, than this product is surely for you my ladies! It will grant you radiant skin in fraction of seconds and you would be all set to conquer the world.

But if you are looking for long time results than it is advisable for you to shift on natural ways of curing skin issues, ‘coz this product is going to be a total disappointment unless you are seeking a good cream for a daily basis.

For me, apart from the whitening part and spot reduction, I love this product for the glow it brings with good hydration and SPF and I have already made it my daily staple.

Till next time
Keep shining bright my loves!
Hina Rehan💜

Getting Monsoon Ready

Finally grey clouds have swarmed up the city, signaling the end of hot summers and onset of monsoons. While I was expecting it to arrive in mid of July, it has seemed to arrive a bit early and that makes me rush to stack up all my monsoon essentials. While not a big fan of monsoons, the very few things I love about it is it's earthy scent,😍 cold weather, and the joy of hogging hot fritters while enjoying rain. Monsoon is a really tricky weather when it comes to fashion. We really don’t have much choice. Do we? Clogged streets, Mud puddles, humid weather, bad hair days, dripping rain! With so many downsides, it really gets difficult to be in your fashionable best. I thereby, revamp my fashion and beauty choices according to monsoons and tend to remain high in style, while keeping that chic quotient on. Bright and cheerful  Where lot of us enjoy this seasonal bliss, monsoon for me brings a whole dull and gloomy vibe in the atmosphere. So to cope with it, I include b...

Innisfree White Tone Up Cream - Review

Innisfree White Tone Up Cream Review Korean brands have taken the global beauty industry by storm. Commonly known as 'K-beauty' in short, the effectiveness of this multi-step beauty regime lies in the belief that "beautiful skin is beauty ". Korean skincare regimens are more involved than your regular quick cleansing and night cream smear. Being a big skincare freak myself, I truly stand by the belief of South Korean beauty rituals. A habit that started with a pure fascination for sheet mask now extends to a 10 step skincare, followed religiously.   I bought the White Tone Up Cream from Innisfree without much thought, can say it was more of an impulsive buy since I have lately been hit with an urge to try anything or everything Korean, when it comes to skincare. Innisfree White Tone Up Cream Review About the Brand: Innisfree is a South Korean natural beauty brand, owned by Amore Pacific . The brand finds its inspiration from the...
