Romancing the 70s - Ft. Zara x Shein

Bidding adieu to the festivities, I can finally claim some ‘me time’ to tune back into a normal life frequency. And what’s better to have it than hanging around with your squad,  feeding yourself with all the fun and giggles over good food and everything positive? Also this might be the first time I would mention about me being a meditating chic. Though I avoid talking about it often, due to the possible placebo effects it might have on my readers but, it surely holds the power to transform one’s life and soul, and that’s probably my way to rejuvenate and radiate with an inner glow. I would love to talk about it in detail some time later and for now, will get back to this space.

Return of everything retro in street style fashion this year has made me loose my head with excitement. I confess to be a huge retro fan and its influence can be seen on my day to day styling. 70s and 80s were the eras where everyone talked about freedom and happiness and that reflected in their fashion choices. Wild and crisp, fashion back than was irresistible in a very sexy and raw sort of way, which I personally find incredibly liberating.

Whether you like it or not, but the denim hero from 70s has made a comeback, claiming its right over JEANS this season. Yes, you guessed it right. Flared denims have risen again!  If I give a quick run in my mind, I can only figure out the vintage trends making their ways from ramps to streets this year.  While that can imply the lack of new ideas in our fashion factories, it also tells us to save the outmoded clothes, ‘coz who knows when they come back banging on your doors loud!

Flared Denims made a short return when I was in my high school. Back in those days, I used to struggle hard to find a right pair for me, as cutting it 4 inches from bottoms to fit my short frame would mean ending all the flare fun.  It made tall girls look taller and short, shorter. Life was miserable till skinny jeans came to save our souls. And while the skinny versions suit all body types, can we say the same about their flared siblings?

Now that I have more refined dressing sense compared to my childhood, I could definitely say YES to above. It’s all about fitting. Fortunately, this time flared denims have landed with wide range of variations.

For petite body frames like me, one must go for a high waist flared denims that will accentuate the right curves. Also such denims will elongate the silhouette by adding few inches to your short frame which is tres importante.

Always opt for a pair that is fitted on the hips and skinny on thighs. Avoid looking frumpy with overall loose fits. Create a flattering silhouette with tiny waist and long body that is slightly curved.

And now for the trickiest part, the length, ensure that its hem ends few inches above your shoe soles making them visible through the flare. Too long flares that cover your shoes entirely will make you look short.

For tall body frames, you guys are one lucky bunch, for; you can get away with any flared style you like. A more cropped length and a wider flare at leg opening will look extremely trendy and straight out of a fashion magazine, if you are looking forward to sport this 70s trend.

Coming to my outfit, I wore these cropped flared denims from ZARA. One thing I love about ZARA is that it’s a brand that copies trends right from the runway and is among the first ones to launch them in their stores. So if you seek to be a fashion forward, you exactly know where to shop.

This cropped flared denim is the perfect amalgamation of trends and styles, if you ask me. We all know about asymmetric hems being a rage this season. Adding to the beauty of asymmetry is the frayed detailing. You can see my high waist denims are fitted at hips and thighs and start opening only below the knee. Also the cropped asymmetric length gave full opportunity to flaunt my new golden black block pumps. Opting for block and ankle boots with heels is a wiser option than choosing flats with such denim styles.

When pairing uppers, flared denims always look best with short tops, fitted bodysuits, Classic shirts tucked in, waist length jackets, blazers and cardigans, because of the silhouette. I paired it with a yellow crop trop, which I recently ordered from Shein.com.  I am currently obsessing over Shein for all my wardrobe woes. Browse through their website and you will find everything highly economical despite being trendy and stylish. This crop top along with few other things were my first buy from them and I can say that the quality and color were same as described on its webpage. Providing a user friendly interface, their returns are hassle free with amounts refunded directly in your bank accounts (perfect, if you ask me, as I highly dislike the idea of providing refunds through store credits only, practiced by major sites.)

I completed my look with a dark blue sling bag from Forever New and my favorite cat eye glasses from Aldo. I opted for a Parisian look with neutral eyes, red lips and my hair loosely tied at back.

Love the 70s impression this outfit made with an understated hotness. Watching my stills from that day, I feel my look to be more powerful and more on effortless wildness. Opinionated and irresistible through personality and not looks.

Hey all, it’s been over a week since I started blogging and thought it’s high time to post my first outfit look and share with you all my personal style. It’s a fashion blog, after all!😃  Before moving ahead, I would really like to thank you all for loving my work and appreciating it. For an introvert like me, blogging was not an easy decision. The fear of being judged or criticized and many other trivial things, overpowered my desire to be a blogger. But as they say “Follow your passion and don’t let anyone limit your dreams!”, I decided to take a step forward and wrote my first blog post, a month back. Ever since then things slowly started falling in place. I feel overwhelmed every time when someone drops me a text on my Snapchat, Facebook or Insta praising my work. Let me tell you guys, it gives me such a self confidence boost and motivates me to do better.💖  Although a week old, I am still new in blogging world and learning gradually the different aspects o...

Getting Monsoon Ready

Finally grey clouds have swarmed up the city, signaling the end of hot summers and onset of monsoons. While I was expecting it to arrive in mid of July, it has seemed to arrive a bit early and that makes me rush to stack up all my monsoon essentials. While not a big fan of monsoons, the very few things I love about it is it's earthy scent,😍 cold weather, and the joy of hogging hot fritters while enjoying rain. Monsoon is a really tricky weather when it comes to fashion. We really don’t have much choice. Do we? Clogged streets, Mud puddles, humid weather, bad hair days, dripping rain! With so many downsides, it really gets difficult to be in your fashionable best. I thereby, revamp my fashion and beauty choices according to monsoons and tend to remain high in style, while keeping that chic quotient on. Bright and cheerful  Where lot of us enjoy this seasonal bliss, monsoon for me brings a whole dull and gloomy vibe in the atmosphere. So to cope with it, I include b...

Innisfree White Tone Up Cream - Review

Innisfree White Tone Up Cream Review Korean brands have taken the global beauty industry by storm. Commonly known as 'K-beauty' in short, the effectiveness of this multi-step beauty regime lies in the belief that "beautiful skin is beauty ". Korean skincare regimens are more involved than your regular quick cleansing and night cream smear. Being a big skincare freak myself, I truly stand by the belief of South Korean beauty rituals. A habit that started with a pure fascination for sheet mask now extends to a 10 step skincare, followed religiously.   I bought the White Tone Up Cream from Innisfree without much thought, can say it was more of an impulsive buy since I have lately been hit with an urge to try anything or everything Korean, when it comes to skincare. Innisfree White Tone Up Cream Review About the Brand: Innisfree is a South Korean natural beauty brand, owned by Amore Pacific . The brand finds its inspiration from the...
