Get Fancy With Recycling | Saree Got A Makeover

Get fancy with Saree
It’s not every day that your inner bugs, set you on a wardrobe cleansing spree. Well, seems like I get hit by them quite often and that is just not limited to my own dresser drawers but eventually take all family members in the trap. Also, there is so much to explore and find fashion inspirations beyond your own territories. Or else, how do you think I styled my brother’s shirt in one of the past series? (click here to read)

Turn saree into a crop blouse.
So one fine day, I came across my mom’s beautiful silk green saree with little intricate prints, spread all over 9 yards. It was love at first sight. Obviously I never saw her donning it and knew it was just a piece of cloth that had no purpose to serve.

Old clothing often just sits in our wardrobes, taking up the space we could be using for clothing we actually wear. You might think of tossing it out or giving it away, but how often do you really have the motivation to revamp them in something purposeful. Also the fact that textile waste is rising at alarming rates (give credits to the dynamic trends in fashion), we all need to do our bit to save the green globe.

Saree in a coat dress

Chic & Co.
As you all would know by now that I love customizing and designing my dresses.
Hence, I decided to revamp the gorgeous green drape, in a two piece set, consisting of a crop blouse and a coat. The makeover turned out to be absolutely chic and stylish.

I absolutely loved the two way utility of the dress. Style the crop blouse alone for places where you need a glam quotient in your outfit.

Want to exude more polished vibes? Go grab that coat and style with your formal lowers for an added sophistication.

Here in the shoot, I styled the two piece set with a black bodycon skirt to help them grab all the eyeballs.

💜 Styling tip: Pair a clothing element you wish to highlight, with neutral colors like black, beige, gray, ivory, taupe or white that helps in shifting attention to brighter color palettes.

I further paired red thread earrings to my look for a punch of quirk. Black high heeled peep toes gave it an overall clean and glam appeal.

I must say the experiment did turned out well giving me some major fashion moment. So what's the wait girls? Hunt down the forgotten sarees resting in stacks and let your imaginations run wild.

Much Love
Hina Rehan 💜

L'oreal White Perfect Range - Day Cream Review (Part 1)

Image courtesy: Chic & Co. I came across the L’oreal's White Perfect Day Cream on my hunt to find something that can reduce pigmentation and imparts even skin tone with instant glow. Products that claim “Fairer” or “Whiter” skin do not attract me generally, for I stand by the belief that every skin is simply beautiful in its own way but a radiating effect in a cream is what I always desire for. A night cream along with it was a planned buy as I was looking to include serums in my night care regime from long. Since them both came in a combo offer, it was worth a buy! It’s been 4 months I have been using both the creams and feel to have invested enough time to come out with a genuine review. I am only talking about day cream in this post, for night cream deserves attention of its own, which will be showered in the subsequent article. About L'oreal White Perfect Day Cream "Tested on Asian women, who claim to notice one drop in melanin block, the pro...

Innisfree White Tone Up Cream - Review

Innisfree White Tone Up Cream Review Korean brands have taken the global beauty industry by storm. Commonly known as 'K-beauty' in short, the effectiveness of this multi-step beauty regime lies in the belief that "beautiful skin is beauty ". Korean skincare regimens are more involved than your regular quick cleansing and night cream smear. Being a big skincare freak myself, I truly stand by the belief of South Korean beauty rituals. A habit that started with a pure fascination for sheet mask now extends to a 10 step skincare, followed religiously.   I bought the White Tone Up Cream from Innisfree without much thought, can say it was more of an impulsive buy since I have lately been hit with an urge to try anything or everything Korean, when it comes to skincare. Innisfree White Tone Up Cream Review About the Brand: Innisfree is a South Korean natural beauty brand, owned by Amore Pacific . The brand finds its inspiration from the...

Fabindia Charcoal Face Pack Review

Swearing by my Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram feeds, I can definitely say that activated charcoal products have become quite a rage in recent times and everyone is going gaga over them for all the good reasons. Apart from its deep cleansing properties, activated charcoal also treats acne and reduce pore size. They are also widely used for removal of black and white heads. I have been using Fabindia’s products from quite a while now.😍They make some really good personal care items. My favorites being Tea Tree Skin Toner , Rose Germanium Face & Body Gel Scrub , Haldi Chandan Mud Pack . Generally having a dry skin, my face tends to get oily at this time of the year when it’s all hot and humid. I already have heard about  Fabindia Charcoal Face Pack  from my friends who have tried it. Pumped up by the amazing reviews, I decided to try it on, this summers. Having purchased somewhere around March, this was bought in use only by May. About  Fabindia ...
