Favorite cape style inspirations from designer Anamika Khanna's collection

Hey my amazing family of chic world, while I am working on a monsoon related post for you all, I decided to share some of my favorite ethnic cape styles from Anamika Khanna’s latest bridal collection and celebrity style diaries.

Capes are those versatile pieces of clothing that just compliments almost every other element of the wardrobe. This sleeveless hero of the layering world has got a makeover lately and has taken the Indian fashion industry by storm. From cropped capes over a saree, the latest upgrades of it are more experimental including that of sparkles, intricate embroidery designs and floor sweeping lengths.

While capes make everything look so good, the latest designs from the Bridal collection of famous designer Anamika Khanna, has given me some major ethnic fashion goals. This Cape goddess has always been known for blending traditional drapes and age old embroideries with western contemporary styles. She is a personal favorite of celebrities like Sonam Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez to name a few. Remember Sonam Kapoor’s pink cape saree at Cannes that just gave us amazeballs!

So jump on the bandwagon with my most favorite style inspirations from her couture, listed down!

Boho vibes
A mustard yellow wide leg pants and bralette dress with flower embroidery paired with full length red cape. If you feel bralette gets a little OTT, go for a crop length blouse with this one. Also capes with this much flare gets tricky to handle, suggest to customize it in more fitted one.

Royal
I was in love with this look, head over heels, the moment my retina registered it. Vaani Kapoor looks mesmerizing in this classic ensemble from the designer’s Bridal Collection 2017. It’s a printed dress in draped hem style with an embroidered trail cape.

All white
This subtle yet classy ensemble is so appealing in its approach. The lace bordered cape adds an edge to the satin lehenga with sequin boat neck blouse.

Jacket Gown
Not exactly a cape but a floor sweeping jacket gown with golden and flower embroidery from the designer’s couture. This is so romantic and royal in its feel. Perfect to rock in your next family wedding reception.

Taken your style notes? Let me know your favorite look out of these in the comments below.

Be Safe with PEE SAFE #saynotodirtytoilets

Hey people Today I will be talking about something very different from what I usually document on my blog. This is an awareness post concerning the hygiene and safety of women and is highly recommended. It’s in collaboration with PEE SAFE. Public Toilets! Two words that make us cringe, every time our bladder commands to get empty. Playing in our minds a gross and stinky sight. Poor or no infrastructure, zero cleanliness, jammed pot holes, dirty toilet seats and oh! that bad odour... are some common reasons to avoid using public toilets. Fear of catching infections from dirty toilets, make us hold on to our bladders while we hunt for much “cleaner” restrooms in a mall, multiplex, hotels or until we don’t step in the comfort of our own houses. The usage of toilets by several people that belong to different backgrounds and hygiene practices makes an individual come in contact of toilet infections. Since women get in direct contact of toilet seats, they are at the ...

Romancing the 70s - Ft. Zara x Shein

Bidding adieu to the festivities, I can finally claim some ‘me time’ to tune back into a normal life frequency. And what’s better to have it than hanging around with your squad,  feeding yourself with all the fun and giggles over good food and everything positive? Also this might be the first time I would mention about me being a meditating chic. Though I avoid talking about it often, due to the possible placebo effects it might have on my readers but, it surely holds the power to transform one’s life and soul, and that’s probably my way to rejuvenate and radiate with an inner glow. I would love to talk about it in detail some time later and for now, will get back to this space. Return of everything retro in street style fashion this year has made me loose my head with excitement. I confess to be a huge retro fan and its influence can be seen on my day to day styling. 70s and 80s were the eras where everyone talked about freedom and happiness and that reflected ...

L'oreal White Perfect Range - Night Cream Review (Part 2)

L'oreal White Perfect Night Cream Always elevated to know that I am blessed with a clear skin, it didn’t take me much time to have this feeling for granted. Although a morning ritual was followed religiously, my skin began demanding more attention, which paved way to a general cleansing and moisturizing in night. Slowly and gradually my products shifted from basic to those that addressed specific issues. I face extreme dryness and uneven skin tone and got L’oreal White Perfect Day and Night Cream to its rescue. I reviewed the Day Cream from L’oreal White Perfect Range in my last post ( click here to read ), so here follows my thoughts and first impression about the Night Cream. About L’oreal White Perfect Night Cream The White Perfect Night Cream protects and repairs the skin during night. It is said to reduce dark spots and is whitening in its function (though I am a non believer of skin whitening and all such marketing gimmicks). The L’oreal White Perfect Range...
