Benefit Watt’s Up! Soft Focus Highlighter Review

Hello my chiclets!

If you have been keeping up with my blog for a while now, you might have guessed my craze for highlighters. It’s that one product which came in my life two years ago when I was all gaga over the contouring trend. But while I am not sure whether I’ll keep up with the whole contouring fiasco for long, highlighters with no second thought have made to my “forever in vanity” list.😍 Like seriously, how can you not love something that alone can give you a contoured face with a healthy glow and make your overall features standout.

I shared a highlighter hack in my last blog post and many of you loved it, for which I am always grateful. This time I have reviewed for you all, the cult favorite, Benefit Watt’s Up SoftFocus Highlighter. It’s a creamy stick ‘champagne’ highlighter that gives a dewy, healthy glow to the face and does not look like made up sheen. While the world is going crazy over 3D & Kylie highlighters which promise to bless you with a glow that can make even sunlight jealous and hats off to those who pull these highlighters like it’s nobody’s business, I on a personal front love soft focus strobes for: they look natural and are suitable for everyday use. Now that doesn’t mean I won’t get Kylie and Huda highlighters in future..πŸ™ˆ it is too mean to expect it from me though.πŸ˜œπŸ˜‰ But yes, as for now I am happy with this little glowing bulb in my kit.

Product Claim
“Our delicate champagne sheer highlighter smoothes on a sweet glow that’s gorgeous. With a cream-to-powder finish… it’s a switch-on “wow” for all complexions. Flattery operated, you’ll adore the smooth applicator & luminous sheen.”

Description
Benefit always comes up with fun and quirky packaging and so is the case with this beauty. Talking about the highlighter, it comes in a roll out stick, like a lipstick at one end and with a sponge applicator for blending at the other end which makes the application process easy. I used the sponge initially but its time taking and now I prefer buffering it out with my fingers which blends the highlighter perfectly with my skin without any harsh lines.

It Retails for INR 2,810 for 9.4 g.

Shade & Texture
As claimed by the company, it’s a rich cream based highlighter with a luminous peachy ‘champagne’ hue that transforms into a powder finish on application and gives a healthy dewy gleam. It can be applied alone or over your already existing makeup. The shade is suitable for all skin tones and looks appealing on both warm & cool complexions.

As the glow is subtle and natural it was difficult to capture it in the camera and thus I had to apply it in a generous amount. The swatch you see in the picture was achieved after thrice of its application.

My Experience with Benefit Watt’s Up!
Before I owned this beauty, I expected it to be too shimmery & sheer, but it’s neither of them and that made me a little upset initially. Not a ‘love at first swatch’ this was definitely a forever commitment when I first used it. As claimed by Benefit, it surely does provide you a subtle and natural peachy sheen that looks rich, healthy and gives a so-lit-from-within glow and that’s the reason I love wearing this highlighter daily. Going on work or on a casual coffee date with my girl gang, this is just prefect for any occasion. On normal days I apply it on my cheekbones, brow bones, on bridge of my nose, on my mid forehead area and on chin, over my Lakme 9 to 5 CC cream in shade Beige to accentuate my features. Topped with eyeliner, mascara, blush and my favorite lipstick, I am all set to rock.πŸ’£ Applying it over a full makeup face gives me perfect glam look too.

Coming over to the texture and finish, it is soft and light to apply and glides on smoothly. I have a normal to dry skin and this sits easily on my skin texture. Although creamy it does not make my skin heavy or oily. People with oily skin might have to blend it a little extra as it may sit in their pores and thus can make spreading difficult. Contradictory to its claim of cream-to-powder finish I however found it creamier & less powdery. It might matter to some but I am perfectly ok with it because the overall results are to die for. The product stays on for good 6 hours after which it starts to fade out. While I use it frequently, it will still last me for quite long after which I am for sure going to restock this beast. If you are someone who loves natural glowy look rather than loud highlighters, and love doing them frequently, you must definitely try this one out.

Apart from being a little heavy on pocket it has nothing to dislike about.

L'oreal White Perfect Range - Day Cream Review (Part 1)

Image courtesy: Chic & Co. I came across the L’oreal's White Perfect Day Cream on my hunt to find something that can reduce pigmentation and imparts even skin tone with instant glow. Products that claim “Fairer” or “Whiter” skin do not attract me generally, for I stand by the belief that every skin is simply beautiful in its own way but a radiating effect in a cream is what I always desire for. A night cream along with it was a planned buy as I was looking to include serums in my night care regime from long. Since them both came in a combo offer, it was worth a buy! It’s been 4 months I have been using both the creams and feel to have invested enough time to come out with a genuine review. I am only talking about day cream in this post, for night cream deserves attention of its own, which will be showered in the subsequent article. About L'oreal White Perfect Day Cream "Tested on Asian women, who claim to notice one drop in melanin block, the pro...

Hey Guys! Hope you all are having a good weekend. I have got a new skincare product review for you all. So, recently I got my hands on The Face Shop Real Nature Green Tea Face Mask. Their products are a result of extensive research and innovations, with gentle ingredients and are really effective on skin.  The Face Shop   is a South Korean cosmetic brand which was launched in India, last year. It claims to clarify and soothe the skin irritated by environmental stressors along with making it supple and soft, giving it a refreshing feel. It does not contain any added parabens. You...

Polka meets Cold Shoulder

Hey all, it’s been over a week since I started blogging and thought it’s high time to post my first outfit look and share with you all my personal style. It’s a fashion blog, after all!πŸ˜ƒ  Before moving ahead, I would really like to thank you all for loving my work and appreciating it. For an introvert like me, blogging was not an easy decision. The fear of being judged or criticized and many other trivial things, overpowered my desire to be a blogger. But as they say “Follow your passion and don’t let anyone limit your dreams!”, I decided to take a step forward and wrote my first blog post, a month back. Ever since then things slowly started falling in place. I feel overwhelmed every time when someone drops me a text on my Snapchat, Facebook or Insta praising my work. Let me tell you guys, it gives me such a self confidence boost and motivates me to do better.πŸ’–  Although a week old, I am still new in blogging world and learning gradually the different aspects o...
