Benefit Watt’s Up! Soft Focus Highlighter Review

Hello my chiclets!

If you have been keeping up with my blog for a while now, you might have guessed my craze for highlighters. It’s that one product which came in my life two years ago when I was all gaga over the contouring trend. But while I am not sure whether I’ll keep up with the whole contouring fiasco for long, highlighters with no second thought have made to my “forever in vanity” list.😍 Like seriously, how can you not love something that alone can give you a contoured face with a healthy glow and make your overall features standout.

I shared a highlighter hack in my last blog post and many of you loved it, for which I am always grateful. This time I have reviewed for you all, the cult favorite, Benefit Watt’s Up SoftFocus Highlighter. It’s a creamy stick ‘champagne’ highlighter that gives a dewy, healthy glow to the face and does not look like made up sheen. While the world is going crazy over 3D & Kylie highlighters which promise to bless you with a glow that can make even sunlight jealous and hats off to those who pull these highlighters like it’s nobody’s business, I on a personal front love soft focus strobes for: they look natural and are suitable for everyday use. Now that doesn’t mean I won’t get Kylie and Huda highlighters in future..🙈 it is too mean to expect it from me though.😜😉 But yes, as for now I am happy with this little glowing bulb in my kit.

Product Claim
“Our delicate champagne sheer highlighter smoothes on a sweet glow that’s gorgeous. With a cream-to-powder finish… it’s a switch-on “wow” for all complexions. Flattery operated, you’ll adore the smooth applicator & luminous sheen.”

Description
Benefit always comes up with fun and quirky packaging and so is the case with this beauty. Talking about the highlighter, it comes in a roll out stick, like a lipstick at one end and with a sponge applicator for blending at the other end which makes the application process easy. I used the sponge initially but its time taking and now I prefer buffering it out with my fingers which blends the highlighter perfectly with my skin without any harsh lines.

It Retails for INR 2,810 for 9.4 g.

Shade & Texture
As claimed by the company, it’s a rich cream based highlighter with a luminous peachy ‘champagne’ hue that transforms into a powder finish on application and gives a healthy dewy gleam. It can be applied alone or over your already existing makeup. The shade is suitable for all skin tones and looks appealing on both warm & cool complexions.

As the glow is subtle and natural it was difficult to capture it in the camera and thus I had to apply it in a generous amount. The swatch you see in the picture was achieved after thrice of its application.

My Experience with Benefit Watt’s Up!
Before I owned this beauty, I expected it to be too shimmery & sheer, but it’s neither of them and that made me a little upset initially. Not a ‘love at first swatch’ this was definitely a forever commitment when I first used it. As claimed by Benefit, it surely does provide you a subtle and natural peachy sheen that looks rich, healthy and gives a so-lit-from-within glow and that’s the reason I love wearing this highlighter daily. Going on work or on a casual coffee date with my girl gang, this is just prefect for any occasion. On normal days I apply it on my cheekbones, brow bones, on bridge of my nose, on my mid forehead area and on chin, over my Lakme 9 to 5 CC cream in shade Beige to accentuate my features. Topped with eyeliner, mascara, blush and my favorite lipstick, I am all set to rock.💣 Applying it over a full makeup face gives me perfect glam look too.

Coming over to the texture and finish, it is soft and light to apply and glides on smoothly. I have a normal to dry skin and this sits easily on my skin texture. Although creamy it does not make my skin heavy or oily. People with oily skin might have to blend it a little extra as it may sit in their pores and thus can make spreading difficult. Contradictory to its claim of cream-to-powder finish I however found it creamier & less powdery. It might matter to some but I am perfectly ok with it because the overall results are to die for. The product stays on for good 6 hours after which it starts to fade out. While I use it frequently, it will still last me for quite long after which I am for sure going to restock this beast. If you are someone who loves natural glowy look rather than loud highlighters, and love doing them frequently, you must definitely try this one out.

Fab Beauty Essentials Under Rs. 500!! - Guide for Beginners.

I still remember the days from my early teenage years when my newly discovered love for makeup would mean never ending product trails to get the right stuff. Building my vanity back then came with fewer hits and more misses, with deep condolences over wasted money and fear of chemicals, my skin came in contact with. Over the years, I now have realized that experiments and regrets are two things that go side by side in makeup.  While we can’t have a short cut over our own share of trails, knowing what products will suit one’s skin type can definitely save anyone’s time and money, in their makeup adventure. So, to save my readers with the entire trauma, I have come up with a list of my most loved makeup products for beginners in a super affordable price range. All the products I have listed are under Rs. 500 and are easily available offline and online. This list is for all those who are looking for good options to build their initial vanity and also for those who are hunting f

Red with a twist of Blonde | My Hair Color Story!

“Red protects itself. No color is as territorial. It stakes a claim, is on the alert against a spectrum.” As rightly said by Derek Jarman, Red is the color of brave, a dynamic shade that not only symbolizes love and passion but can rightly be related to the unconventional. This might also be a reason that only 2% of all people can claim the fiery hair color as their own natural color. But as I keep my pace with the ever dynamic hair coloring trends of past 3 years, I can definitely be sure that red is no longer a rare exception. Many celebs and fashion icons or influencers can currently be seen embracing the redhead trend, giving the bold shade their own kind of twist or variations which they contemplate with their personal style and with such variations, comes a dazzling array of hues to opt from. Hair coloring is a very unique style of exhibiting one’s personality and an important part of one’s fashion and lifestyle choices. If you are a person who loves to style an

Get fancy with Saree It’s not every day that your inner bugs, set you on a wardrobe cleansing spree. Well, seems like I get hit by them quite often and that is just not limited to my own dresser drawers but eventually take all family members in the trap. Also, there is so much to explore and find fashion inspirations beyond your own territories. Or else, how do you think I styled my brother’s shirt in one of the past series? ( click here to read ) Turn saree into a crop blouse. So one fine day, I came across my mom’s beautiful silk green saree with little intricate prints, spread all over 9 yards. It was love at first sight. Obviously I never saw her donning it and knew it was just a piece of cloth that had no purpose to serve. Old clothing often just sits in our wardrobes, taking up the space we could be using for clothing we actually wear. You might think of tossing it out or giving it away, but how often do you really have the motivation to revamp them in somet
